El Cordel del Valle is one of the historic paths that cross the natural environment of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Integrated into the network of livestock routes, this trail served as a traditional passage for transhumant livestock and is part of the livestock memory of the Madrid mountains.

On the route of Los Tesoros de Abantos, the Cordel del Valle appears as a branch of the Cañada Real Leonesa Oriental, within the Abantos pine forest. Its path allows for an understanding of the importance of cañadas, cordeles and veredas as ancient communication corridors, livestock routes and connections between landscapes. Currently, in addition to its historical value, it constitutes an area of natural interest for hiking and environmental interpretation.

As an additional reference, the inventory of livestock routes in San Lorenzo records the Cordel del Valle in two sections, with a width of 37.61 m and lengths of 2,000 m and 3,500 m, respectively.
