Tour Description

San Lorenzo de El Escorial concentrates its commercial activity in a compact axis formed mainly by two parallel streets: calle Floridablanca and calle del Rey, connected to each other by a series of transverse cross-streets.

The proposed route runs in a zigzag pattern across this grid, covering both commercial streets in their entirety and crossing their most lively cross-streets.

We start from the junction of Floridablanca Street and Patriarca Street (1), the southern limit of the commercial area, very close to the monumental surroundings. Floridablanca Street is, along with Rey Street, the most active commercial axis in the municipality. We move west along Floridablanca.

We reach the junction with San Antón street (2), one of the crossings that connect both main commercial streets and which also concentrates activity in its section between Floridablanca and Rey street.

We continue along Floridablanca until its junction with Alarcón Street (3), another of the cross-streets that form the backbone of the area.

We reach the western end of Floridablanca Street, at its junction with Leandro Rubio Street (4), the western limit of this commercial axis.

From here we cross over to Calle del Rey, the other major commercial artery of the municipality, and reach its western end at the junction with Calle Pedro Regalado (5), the western boundary of Calle del Rey.

We walk along Rey Street from west to east. We pass the intersection with Alarcón Street (6), an active node of the commercial street network.

We continue to the junction of Rey Street and San Antón Street (7), a connecting transverse street with Floridablanca.

The tour concludes at the intersection of Rey Street and Patriarca Street (8), the southern limit of the commercial area, closing the zigzag through the central grid of trade in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
