Sobre este lugar
House of Jacometrezzo, a historic building located in Floridablanca Street in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
empty
It is one of the few 16th-century buildings that has survived to the present day and is possibly the oldest house in the town. The solidity of its construction and its compositional typology have contributed to its preservation. The walls are made of stone rubble topped by a simple stone masonry cornice. The composition, close to popular typologies, denotes the lack of an author and style.

Built between 1562 and 1584, it was part of the set of houses that closed off to the north the grove of chestnut, holm oak, oak and hazel trees located in front of the entrance to the Monastery.

It is believed that it was built to be the residence of Jacometrezzo, a sculptor and lapidary who created the Tabernacle of the Basilica of El Escorial. Herrera and Trezzo formed such a friendship that it would even be the architect who designed his house in Madrid.
During the 19th century, the house passed from being owned by the Hieronymites to becoming part of the Crown's Heritage, and from there to the State following the General Disentailment or Madoz Law of 1855.

With the revolution of 1868, the building was acquired by private individuals, serving as a temporary residence.
